The growing age is not symbolic of how many years one has lived but how well one has lived. Gandhi Labour Foundation is no different. At five (at twenty-five, if its promoter IMME’s years are counted), it looks into the rear view mirror not to revel in euphemism but to tell itself how far it has reached and how many more steps it has to climb. Individuals die, an Institute does not unless it is bereft of persons who had shared common goals and dreams and worked together realizing the same. But an Institution also can not exist without the support from the ‘outside world’, meaning persons not directly related to the day to day functions activities of the Institution, but of course conforming to the objectives set by it.

The list of persons and organizations in GLF history can not be exhausted in a couple of pages. Individuals may remain unnamed but this is not indicative of the fact that their contribution has paled into insignificance. We always remember them with gratitude and respect.

Today writing the history of GLF, we felt abreasting the world of GLF’s work and commitment would not be justified without the mention of all those organizations – national and international, who gave their encouragement and support at every step. We feel, merely naming such organizations here, is too little in proportion to the kind of generous assistance, affection and goodwill they have shown from time to time and often in times of need. In particular, GLF is deeply grateful to the following organizations without whom, there could have been very little achievement, from GLF’s conception to reality.
